John Kerry Delivers Democratic Radio Address to the Nation
For Immediate Release




My fellow Americans, after the many long months and miles of this campaign, in three days this election will be in your hands.

You will face a choice. 

I believe it’s time to give this country we love a fresh start.  And this morning, I would like to give you as plainly as I can the summary of my case on how – together – we can change America. 

I believe we begin by moving our economy, our government, and our society back in line with our best values. 

In three days, you can choose a president who will defend this nation and fight for the middle class.   And if you give me the chance, I will be that president.

In Iraq, I will bring our allies to our side and train Iraqis so that we can succeed and bring our troops home. I will fight a tougher, smarter, more effective war on terror.  We will hunt down, capture, and kill the terrorists wherever they are. I defended this country as a young man and I will defend it as president.

But a president has to be able to do more than one thing at a time. 

We can bring back good-paying jobs for middle-class families so that they don’t just get by – they get ahead.  We can bring down the cost of health care and child care and tuition so that you can pay the bills and give your children the same chance at life that your parents gave you. 

This can be our future.

But first we must choose.

It’s a choice between four more years of George Bush’s policy to ship jobs overseas and give tax breaks to the companies that do it -- or a President who will reward the companies that create and keep good jobs here in the United States of America. 

On Tuesday, you’ll face a choice between four more years of George Bush’s giveaways to the big drug companies and the big HMOs -- or a President who will finally make health care a right, and not a privilege, for every American.

On Tuesday, you will choose between four more years of tax giveaways for millionaires along with a higher tax burden for you -- or a President who will cut middle-class taxes, raise the minimum wage, and guarantee women an equal day’s pay for an equal day’s work. 

On Tuesday, America faces a choice between four more years of an energy policy of, by, and for the big oil companies -- or a President who finally makes America independent of Mideast oil in ten years.   I believe that America should rely on our own ingenuity and innovation, not the Saudi Royal family. 

You can choose a fresh start.  And when I’m President, that’s what you’ll get.

In the end, I believe that the only way to do all this is by coming together as One America.  It is time for America to put the politics of polarization behind us.  It is time to appeal to the best instincts of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike.

I see an America of rising opportunity.  And I believe hope, not fear is our future.

In three days, we can change the course of our country.  I ask for your vote and I ask for your help.  When you go to the polls next Tuesday, bring your friends, your family, your neighbors.  No one can afford to stand on the sidelines or sit this one out. 

In three days, this campaign will end. The election is in your hands. You can vote now and every day until Election Day. And if you believe we need a fresh start in Iraq …. if you believe we can create and keep good jobs here in America … if you believe we need to get health care costs under control … if you believe in the promise of stem cell research … if you believe our deficits are too high and we’re too dependent on Mideast oil …then I ask you to join me and together we’ll change America.

A LETTER TO MSNBC

I’m sorry to see that MSNBC would an alleged felon such as Ralph Reed onto any one of your shows and treat him as if he were nothing more than a political operative of one of the campaigns!

Reed is connected to lawyers Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlon who are under investigation by Senate Committee on Indian Affairs for bilking Indian casinos out of millions of dollars. His connection? He is said to have received laundered money from Abramoff & Scanlon for using “grassroots movements” to close down the casinos, so that
Abramoff & Scanlon could “come to the rescue” and get paid millions by the casinos.

There is of course the allegation that Reed the hypocrite launched an anti-gambling crusade against the Jena Band of Choctaws but was paid by Abramoff & Scanlon on behalf of the Louisiana Coushatta Tribe. He utilized churches for his efforts! Churches! And on Scarborough Country” he has the temerity to accuse John Kerry of using “religion as a weapon and as a means of dividing”. This is George W. Bush’s southeast chairman for Bush / Cheney 2004!

Why guest host Laura Ingraham did not grill him on these allegations is beyond me! How MSNBC could allow someone of questionable character like Reed act like some talking head betrays at best a laxness of standards, and at least a level of moral turpitude.

IT'S MORE THAN JUST MSNBC!

Pleased to see my first commenter! You must be right about Ingraham, she was (and still is) a loudmouth all her TV career! But I was angry because this wasn't Chubby Cheeked Ralphie's first interview on TV! The week before I saw him being blythely interviewed by Judy Woodruff! And what was the interview about? Nothing that had to with gambilng, Indian Tribes, Jack Abramoff or Mike Scanlon!

I predict that when it comes down to the wire in Florida on Tuesday, we will start shaking all the voter intimidation, rigging and chicanery out and people will want to know what kind of people are capable of this, and start looking into Ralphie's background. So gather ye info on the web boys and girls, because it will soon come out like a ton of potatoes through a rotting floor.

Intro

I'm getting into blogging so that I can create a politcal diary. i want to be more involved in my community be national, state or local. I'm liberal, so this is a liberal blog. I feel that whether or not John Kerry wins or loses, there is a fight coming over what this country stands for. We liberals need to push for the things that we believe be it for human rights, and a retooling of the Patriot Act, the war on terror and what we need to do to leave a better world behind us. I'll even do ecoblogging. On the way I will develope a few pet interests and pet peeves. As a matter of fact I've already got one of those, but it's late and I've got to get going.

When Hypocrites are Allowed to Pass as Experts

The other day I saw Laura Ingraham guest host on Scarborough Country. What I saw shocked me. There on cable network news I saw an accused criminal being treated as a"talking head" with all the respect given to such a postion! Ralph Reed presents himself as a pious believer in the One True Faith of God that others will be damned if they do not worship. Well that's funny, because Ralph is himself accused of using religion to promote his own self-interest in a particularly twisted way.

He owns a public relations firm called Century Strategies which has business clients. Those clients he can tell you about, but according to The Nation, and the Washington Post, he has a few clients he'd rather not talk about. Clients like the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, who one the only casino in the state. They had a little problem. The Jena Band of the Choctaw Tribe wished to build their own casino in Louisiana. This threatened the Coushatta monopoly, especially when they heard that Haley Barbour agreed to represent the Jenas in front of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Naturally they wanted somebody of equal pull to offset Barbour's influence to stop the Jenas. They knew Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlon. They knew Ralph Reed. He had connections with Karl Rove, Tom DeLay and through Rove, George W. Bush. According to The Nation, through Abramoff and Scanlon, the Coushattas contacted Reed who agreed to start a grassroots anti-gambling crusade to stop the Jena Band from bujilding a competing casino. And did Ralphie Boy do it? Reports say that he used - churches! Preaching from the pulpit ministers were duped into raising volunteers who did not know that they were fellow travelers in nothing more than a squeeze play tp serve corporate interests. Reed wasn't campaigning against gambling, he was simply destroying the competition of a startup to help a rich client. Like any other Elmer Gantry who didn't wanted to bo connected with his cash flow, Reed's retainer in this matter was paid by Abramoff with money laundered through one of his legal firms. And of course there is the fact that Abramoff, Scanlon and Reed are accused of scamming other casino tribes by first Reed shutting them down a' la the Jenas, than Abramoff and Scanlon taking their money to represent them - unsuccessfully I might ad. Of course Reed gets his under the table.

And this same person Ralph Reed is chosen by Karl Rove to be Bush's chairman of the Southeast section of the Bush / Cheney 2004 campaign, that puts under his control elector rich Florida. Now was Reed chosen because of his stature among the Christian fundamentalists, or his street rep as an a shady operator? Given the unsavory character of Republican voter intimidation tactics in Pennsylvania and Ohio, I'd say the latter.

And the lazy spineless networks don't seem to care about the alegations swirling around Baby Faced Ralphie. He just smiles, gives good face, and lies to everyone within earshot. And no one confronts him, this chairman of the Southeast section of the Bush / Cheney campaign. CNN just sits down with him as pretty as they please.

My First Foray; The Brouhaha over Osama

Before anyone jumps to any conclusions consider this: If Osama bin-Laden who is our enemy really wanted John Kerry to win the election would he be stupid enough to endorse him to the very enemy he has sworn to destroy, the very people who have sworn to kill him? Knowing that we hate him, would recommend to us who we want as president? Hardly!

Consider that he has had his greatest successes with George Bush. Bush had him in his grasp and he let him slip away. Thus he has been able to gauge the level of stupidity of Bush and found it inviting. Consider then that bin-Laden is comfortable with Bush. How best in a close election to get the president you want, that being Bush?

Simple, endorse his opponent to the very people who hate you. Reverse psychology. If their hatred and mistrust of you is virulent enough, they will suspect your motives (but with the suspicion that you wanted them to have) and come to the wrong conclusion (the one you wanted them to). Thus Osama could persuade the American people to choose against their own best interests, for what would Osama bin-Laden be without his blessing George W. Bush?
